Colors on Canvas, the art gallery, was started in October 1998 amid much fanfare. Its primary goal was to bring contemporary Indian art to art lovers in Dubai and the Middle East at Indian market prices. Started by Malini Gulrajani, an avid art collector, Colors on Canvas has since grown into an internationally recognised institution, displaying works by some of India's foremost contemporary artists. It also supports fledgling artists from India, Dubai and other parts of the world. Colors on Canvas has conducted a number of exhibitions, group shows, one-man shows and charity events to raise the awareness of Indian art in the fregion. Major shows at Colors on Canvas are high profile events by virtue of the visiting artists, the quality of artwork, the media coverage and the guest list which includes avid art collectors from all over the globe, local dignitries and royalty, comapany heads and media personnel.
